Faculty

BRENDA ANDERSON BSN CHTP/I has been combining her nursing background with Healing Touch since 1993. Her private practice includes helping people prepare for childbirth and other life transitions. She offers support for people coping with chronic pain, cancer, autoimmune disorders, stress related challenges depression, and loss. She is a teacher and a mentor for student practitioners and other instructors with a special interest in the principles of energetic communication.

DOROTHY BECKER BA, M Div, M.Ed candidate in Counseling Psychology brings a unique background to spiritual leadership, healing and creative endeavors. She has amassed experience and knowledge from various parts of the world, has training in counseling as well as in holistic methods of energy healing and vibrational transformation. Dorothy works with people from all walks of life in her private practice. She also travels to Winnipeg each month to teach a program for the University of Manitoba Counseling Service.

JUDITH-ANN DONALDSON RN, Registered Midwife (Aus), Certified Integrative Energy Healing Practitioner, Judith Ann is an Obstetric Nurse, a Prenatal Instructor, Breastfeeding Counsellor and a Perinatal Consultant. She has completed 2 levels of Reiki, Healing Touch and Therapeutic Touch and is a graduate of the pioneer class of Integrative Energy Healing Practitioner’s Program. Judith Ann has been to Nepal and India, teaching Energy-based Healing to students at Kathmandu University and supporting students with their World Service in Dharamsala as they tended the Tibetan monks, nuns and refugees from Tibet. She has also taught Mystical Christianity and facilitates an ongoing Centering Prayer group for Contemplative Outreach.

RUTH LAMB, RN, BA, MScN, HTP graduate of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, PhD student, is the manager for Langara College’s Centre for Holistic Health Studies. She has experience as a director of nursing, educator and health care consultant in addition to her private energy healing practice. She helped co-found a provincial and national holistic nurses association. A student of consciousness studies and the healing sciences from several traditions, she believes that healing body, mind, and spirit, and deeply connecting the soul and heart are interconnected and that a view of the “Whole” person will be an integral part of the new paradigm health care.

ROBYN LESLIE, RDH, Certified Integrative Energy Healing Practitioner has worked as a registered dental hygienist since 1993 and is presently with a holistic dental practice which focuses on individual needs of the clients. She is a graduate of the Langara College Integrative Energy Healing program. Robyn has a small energy healing practice that focuses on deepening the client’s ability to hear their body. Robyn is a certified yoga instructor and teaches in White Rock. She is a participant in the IEH teacher’s training program. Robyn is dedicated to life long learning and continues to expand her experience and knowledge base for self healing and to support others on their healing journeys.

MONICA PIDHANY Certified Integrative Energy Healing Practitioner is in year two of the Integrative Energy Healing Teacher Training Program. For the past ten years Monica has been contracted by the Ministry of Children and Families to work with high risk youth in care. Her primary focus is with teens suffering from abuse and addictions. She has a private Integrative Energy Healing Practice and facilitates small group workshops in self-awareness, meditation, and personal healing work. She has a lifelong passion for mysticism, symbolism, spiritual studies and the healing arts.

LOIS ROSS, RN, CHTP/I, a registered nurse in private practice since 1988. Lois provides holistic health and lifestyle consultations. She is a certified Healing Touch instructor and has studied extensively in the field of energy healing and energy medicine. Lois has a strong interest in ceremony and Aboriginal healing practices and has been a student of Inca shamanism for the past several years. Lois teaches the Inca Medicine Wheel Rites of Passage for women along with programs focusing on the Development of the Healer. Lois is past-president of the Canadian Holistic Nurses Association.

JAMES TOUSIGNANT PhD, Certified Integrative Energy Healing Practitioner, is an experimental psychologist and research methodologist with the Yukon Government. James’ desire to understand the human experience began with looking for answers in the outside world. Today his focus is on deepening his inner spiritual awareness and to further integrate spiritual reality into daily living. In his private practice, James assists others to explore and experience new ways of seeing and being in the world through awareness, experience and healing of our energy system.

LINDA TURNER RN, MN, CHTP, has held positions of Clinical Nurse Specialist in pain management since 1994. She has worked at Vancouver Hospital, University of San Francisco Medical Centre and University Health Network in Toronto. She is an instructor of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and has trained for many years under the supervision of Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre Stress Reduction Clinic. She has brought Integrative Energy Healing to acute care institutions both in her clinical role and as an instructor. Linda is the Integrative Energy Healing program coordinator.

CORA VAN WYCK, RN, BScN, CHTP, Certified Integrative Energy Healing Practitioner, Cranial Sacral Therapist, CPP, Cora has been a Registered Nurse for over 25 years. Her hospital nursing experience has been in critical care and she has been a Clinical Nurse Educator for many years. Cora has a deep passion for complementary therapies and has a private practice incorporating energy work and cranial sacral therapy. She is an instructor with Langara College and a teaching assistant with the Upledger Institute. Cora teaches Anatomy for Energy Practitioners.

DIANE BURROUGHES MA, BEd BPE has worked as a coach for twenty years in the area of career and small business development; she has also assisted in the development and facilitation of new and innovative programs. She spent time as a faculty member at Seneca College in Toronto, as an instructor and manager at Douglas College and as an instructor at Langara College and with the Outward Bound Wilderness School. She uses her intuition, passion and knowledge to coach individuals and groups to develop successful career paths. Dianne teaches visioning for business practices.

ROSS LIARD PhD, RCC is a counselor, teacher of creativity and educator. He teaches in diverse subject areas such as integrative and energetic healing, psychology, counseling, creative writing, creative process, substance abuse counseling and spirituality. Ross is a winner of the Sussman Award for Academic Excellence, winner of the Lamont prize for poetry, nominee for the Governor Generals Award, and has a national best seller book which was voted one of the most important books of 2001 by the Globe and Mail and by Spirituality & Health Magazine. Ross teaches courses about healing through trauma.

Paulette Tomasson, RN, MScN is a Registered Nurse, a Registered Clinical Counsellor and received her Certification in Somatic Experiencing in September, 2006. She operates a private practice specializing in the treatment of trauma and specialized addictions. She is an internationally known and respected teacher/ consultant in these fields. Paulette teaches a recommended weekend workshop for the Integrative Energy Healing Program entitled Somatic Trauma Release.
