Expressive Arts Therapy Training Program
The helping profession is constantly looking into ways of knowing and responding to human suffering and passion. The premise of our work is that art and its modes of expression is a way to explore and support transformation through the imagination.
This two year part time program celebrates an integrative arts approach to therapeutic process. It consists of core courses, studio-based learning, and supervised field work. The curriculum covers concepts, experiences, and skills necessary for training in Expressive Arts Therapy and is designed to facilitate instructive and personal process learning that takes place within the classes and extends to research and practice within the community.
The training begins mid September and ends at the beginning of June of each year. For first year students, courses run on Wednesday evenings and on Saturdays; for second year students, courses run on Thursday evenings and Sundays. The schedule of hours for the practicum is defined in accordance with participants’ time-tables as well as the requirements of the practicum sites.
Eligible students can receive advanced standing towards a Masters Degree as well as PhD in Expressive Arts Therapy at the European Graduate School (EGS).EGS also offers a BA waiver program for eligible students.
