Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of Part One, students will be able to:
- Discuss aromatherapy as a holistic healing modality
- Identify body systems and how aromatherapy can be used to restore harmony and balance to those systems
- Identify 24 essential oils, 6 carriers oils and 2 hydrosols and have an in-depth understanding of how they affect the body
- Explain pre-cautions and contra-indications as well as other safety issues when using essential oils
- Demonstrate appropriate client intake assessments and formulate effective therapeutic aromatherapy blends
- Apply blends through localized massage, compress and inhalation
After successful completion of Part Two, students will be able to:
- Recognize the importance of self care for the practitioner including meditation, centering and grounding
- Discuss aspects of aromatherapy and skin care
- Apply a therapeutic foot-reflex massage for their client
- Perform a head, face and neck massage for their client
